Planning Change

From the topic proposal to the actual dissemination final project, I think we will work as a group to observe what needs to be changed first. Once as see what things the floor could benefit from changing or improving, we can research ways to implement that change and ways to measure affects of that change. As a group, we will also communicate with our clinical instructor to identify what she thinks would be beneficial to change on the floor to improve patient outcomes. We plan to communicate and complete work for the project through email, text message, and group meetings before/after class, as well as on off days, to complete tasks. Also, by using a group message we will be able to talk about what needs to be done and assure each other that tasks are being completed on time and accurately. In order to keep each other accountable and make sure everyone is participating, task will be evenly split up, but will always be reviewed by the whole group prior to submission to assess for completion and make sure everyone is in agreement.

For conflict management, the goal is obviously to avoid conflict all together, but if it happens, we will meet as a group to try to come to a consensus alone. If that proves unsuccessful, we will seek counseling from our professor and/or advisors to see if they can help us resolve the situation at hand. An expected barrier is going to be finding time to meet as a group due to peoples work and study periods. Some people online have time to work on our days off from class which will make it a little harder to find time to meet as a whole group, but we can meet in small groups, or meet right after classes to solve that problem. A benefit to being a clinical group is we spend 10 hours every week together which will allow us to possible work on the project directly following clinical if that is our only option. Overall, I am excited to work on this project with my clinical team to hopefully help the hospital improve on some aspect of their daily patient care!
