Preparation for Licensure and Transition to Professional Practice

  1. From each Individual Performance Profile, I tried to look at what area I struggled most and focus most on those remediations. If these was a question that I got wrong that immediately after seeing the answer I knew why I was wrong, I remembered that question if it came up again. I also would change where/when I took the ATI if I did poorly on one to see which environment worked best for me. Overall, I saw improvement in all topic areas as the semester went on an I took more and more ATIs.
  2. Through the use of remediations and just doing a lot of ATIs throughout the semester, gaps in content slowly started to close. The hardest part was closing the gaps on thing we have not directly learned in class. When topics came up that I had little to know experience with, I would do the remediation, but also keep reading information on that topic to learn as much as possible. As the semester progressed, I feel like on each assignment there were fewer gaps and I just had to read the questions more cautiously.
  3. I think this semester has taught me many time management skills because we had many assignments due each week. I learned to budget my time and block out when I was going to do each assignment so that everything got done. That also left me time to plan I was going to go to the gym, hangout with friends, go home and visit my family. My writing down my schedule and seeing when I had free time, I was able to use my time efficiently.
  4. I will continue to use what I have learned this semester to study for the NCLEX and prepare myself to be a licensed nurse. I know how important self-care is to preventing burnout, and I have developed many strategies this semester. I also learned to have fun with nursing and enjoy what I am learning. I look forward to what the future holds!
