In essay two of the semester I focused on completely understanding learning outcomes five and six. These includes documenting my work using appropriate conventions (MLA), and controlling sentence-level error (grammar, punctuation, spelling). I showed I understood the two learning outcomes because all my quotes had the author and page number after the quotation. Also, in my work cited, I made sure to put my sources in alphabetical order by author. In making my citations I used “The Little Seagull” handbook. This book helps ensure you are using the correct type of citation for different source types. Within my essay, I made many local revisions to ensure my spelling and grammar were correct. In peer editing, other students reading my essay helped me find mistakes that were not seen by me. The peer editing process is another way for me to work on learning outcomes five and six, because I am fixing errors in my paper, as well as helping peers find mistakes.
